Description
Nylon 6 produced by casting with the addition of molybdenum disulfide ( MoS2 ), thanks to which assumes best tribological characteristics. While maintaining the main features of Omniamid G is more resistant and more self-lubricating, it’s better machinable and is more resistant to UV rays.
Features
Wear resistance, better than the PA 6 HR
Tensile strength and compression are same as the Omniamid G, while the impact strength is higher, fatigue resistance is high
Self-lubricating, low friction coefficient
Aging resistance, good resistance to weathering and low temperature
Gray
Weak Points
It is hygroscopic, although less than PA6 G. Because of molecular arrangements, the larger or thicker are the diameters, the better is the quality of the product, rather than those of small mass
Application
Mechanical: thanks to the good mechanical properties and the possibility to obtain semi-finished pieces of large dimensions, this material is widely used for the production of large diameter gears, pulleys, wheels and anti-wear guides . For excellent abrasion resistance in the earth moving and construction machines is used for gears, guides, bearings, brackets etc.
In shipbuilding industry thanks to excellent weather resistance is used to obtain rollers, towing, guides, bushings. In the ropeway industry for pulleys, wheels, slides, etc.
Food: can not be used in contact with food
Electrical: the electrical characteristics varies with the moisture content ; is still used when mechanical strength is required
Chemical Properties: good resistance to alkalis, inorganic compounds and solvents
